He was the 1964 and 1965 coaching staff of the teams representing the New Orleans Area at the National AAABA tournament in Johnstown, PA. He also organized the Young Men's Business Softball League in 1958. Mr. Gandolini worked with St. John Vianney Prep High School in various capacities, including being a PE instructor and assistant baseball and football coach at different times when the school opened until the Archdiocese of New Orleans closed the school. Mr. Gandolini loved to travel and did so extensively with his family throughout the United States and Canada, and especially enjoyed friendships he developed over the years in Napa Valley, California and Oahu, Hawaii.Mr. Gandolini is survived by Irene and Eileen Burke, Donald and Mary Lou Gandolini, and Glenn and Cecile Gandolini; 4 nieces and 2 nephews; and many cousins. Mr. Gandolini was fine man and teacher. I am smiling now as I think of him and the wonderful stories he shared with his students at St. John Prep. I am so sorry I cannot be at the wake or mass, but I will keep him (and you all) in my thoughts.
