William 'Bill' Zack Geiger, Jr., 91, of Chiefland passed away on Thursday, March 10th, 2016 at North Fla. Regional Hospital in Gainesville. He had lived in Chiefland all of his life. He was the owner and operator of Bill Geiger Land Clearing and then went on to become manager of the Gulf Hammock Hunting Club until his retirement. He loved to hunt and fish. He also loved doing things for people. One of the joys in his life was giving and helping people. He put on numerous fish fry's for people that were in need of assistance and for school functions. If he found out there was a need, he was on it.
Mr. Geiger was preceded in death by his first wife, Iris Geiger; his parents, William S. Geiger, Sr. and Lula J. (Cox) Geiger; a brother, Rube Geiger; two sisters, Estelle Sache and Esseline Henderson; and his second wife, Mary Cason.
Mr. Geiger was survived by two sons, William Geiger and wife Connie of Palm Harbor, FL and Ervin Cason and wife Joyce of Alma, GA; three daughters, Ann Moody and husband Fred of Chiefland, FL, Darlene Cason and companion Tom of Albany, GA, and Carol Jones of Chiefland, FL; nineteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Services for Mr. Geiger will be held on Monday, March 14th, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Knauff Funeral Home Chapel in Chiefland. There will be a Visitation one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are under the direction of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland.
