We have had the pleasure of being Bill and Brenda's neighbors for the last 10 years. Bill was always happy and helpful. He would always lend a helping hand with snow removal, call us when we would accidentally leave our basement light on for days and leave us his travel magazines when he was done with them so we can could plan our next trip. He was one of a kind and will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Giles family.

My condolences to Brenda and family. The photo I posted yesterday was of the boat Bill built for me in 1985, still used. He was a legend who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

Deepest sympathy to the Giles family, especially DR classmate (1966) Brenda. When we moved into 314 Lincoln Ave, bought from Betty Place, we found many boat racing trophies upstairs in the barn. Apparently Bill had so many, he did not have room for all! Though we have long since moved on, I believe some of the trophies may still be there.

Sending my condolences to the Giles family--Bill was the greatest guy I ever met, always smiling and having a pleasant word to say. When I had my first dress shoppe across the street on Bay St, Bill would always help me with stuff I needed to paint my shoppe or work projects at home and greet me with Good Day Ms Tajon and ask what kind of dress was I making today. I'm sorry for your loss Bill will be greatly missed by my family and I.

In 1968 while racing in the CSH finals - Bill Giles and another boat racer had to dump their rigs in order to miss my head in the water at Green Lake in Seattle, WA. After we all got to shore the one driver was yelling at me for dumping on front of him; Bill Giles on the other hand was apologizing profusely for almost hitting me. Bill had tears in his eyes and expressed his sadness for what might have happened. That was our Billy...will love and miss you more then you'll ever know. R.i.p. Bill 3-B.

Great racer, great friend.
Going into the first turn with Bill no matter how close, we never had a single incident in my 30 years of racing. Bill was truly one of the greatest drivers in the APBA

Rarely have I met anyone of such great spirit and achievement with such a kind and humble demeanor. Bill touched everyone he met with both his greatness and humility.
The world is a better place for his time with us. There is sadness in his passing, but there will always be joy in my heart for having known him.
