William Glowacki Obituary

Published by Queen Anne's Record Observer from Jul. 5 to Jul. 6, 2017.
CENTREVILLE - William Jennings "Will" Glowacki of Centreville, Md., passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, after a long and courageous battle with brain cancer. He was 20.
Born on Dec. 8, 1996, in Columbia, Md., he is the son of Michael and Stephanie Glowacki (nee Candella) of Centreville, Md. Will grew up in Centreville and was a graduate of Queen Anne's County High School class of 2014. During his high school career, he was a member of the National Honor Society and co-captain of the state-qualifying golf team in 2013. Will also played baseball and tennis at QACHS. On picture day at QACHS or when field trips were on the table, he was sometimes known for talking his way into clubs/organizations of which he was not a member. After high school, he attended Towson University. He was a vibrant young man with a joy for life who was loved by many.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Joseph Glowacki of Washington, D.C., Thomas Glowacki of Centreville, Md.; as well as his maternal grandparents, Joe and Eileen Candella of Grasonville, Md. William is also survived by many uncles, aunts and cousins who loved him dearly, Alice, Tom, MacKenzie, Josh, Audrey, Antonia, Bryan, Mary, Regan, Allison, Nicholas, Melissa, Joe, Shauna, Lucas, Mary, Christopher, Sarah, Ted, Diana, Teddy, Daniel, Dylan; and by his beloved puppies, "Memphis" and "Hercules." He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kasmer and Mildred Glowacki.
Family and friends may visit from 6 to 8 p.m. (with memorial remembrances at 7 p.m.) on Friday, July 7, at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home P.A., Centreville, Md. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 8, at Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church in Centreville, Md.
In honor of Will's wishes and zest for life, his family suggests wearing golf-style attire such as polo shirts and Bermuda shorts to the visitation on Friday. For the Mass on Saturday, please come in comfortable resort wear in bright colors and patterns. Hawaiian shirts are strongly encouraged.
In lieu of flowers, Will's family requests that you consider a contribution in Will's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or at www.stjude.org.

I will never forget Will as my first ever best friend. He was such a big part of my childhood and I was lucky to have him in my life. I still remember walking to your house everyday in the summer just to see if your family's van was parked in the driveway so I could knock on the door to see if you were home. All of the memories we made are something I will cherish forever.
