WILLIAM HART Obituary

William G. Hart, Sr., age 80, Deacon Emeritus of Trinity Episcopal Church, Newtown, CT, died Thursday, March 21, 2002 in Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Mavis (Davis) Hart and resided on Stonegate Drive in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown. Mr. Hart was born in Madera, CA December 2, 1921 a son of the late Lucas P. and Evelyn (Troy) Hart, Sr. He was a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, Mr. Hart worked on the Manhattan Project at the University of California, Berkeley. Mr. Hart had a long career with General Electric Corporation and retired as Sr. Vice President of the Hitachi Magnetic Corporation in 1987. He has been a resident of Newtown the past five years and was a longtime resident of Bedford, NY. In addition to his wife, survivors include his three sons William G. Hart, Jr. of Sandy Hook, Troy T. Hart of North Salem, NY and Robert L. Hart, Sr. of Mohegan Lake, NY and seven grandchildren Troy V. Hart, Meredith Hart, Zachary Hart, Alexandra Hart, Brianna Hart, Colleen Hart and Robert L. Hart, Jr. Funeral Services will be held Monday, March 25, 2002 at 11 am in Trinity Episcopal Church with Rev. Kathleen Adams-Shepherd officiating. Interment will be in Zoar Cemetery. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown, Sunday, March 24, 2002 from 3-5 pm. Contributions may be made to Newtown Ambulance Association, P.O. Box 344, Newtown, CT 06470 or to Parkinson Disease Association, 27 Allendale Dr., North Haven, CT 06473.
