William Hastings Obituary
Bill was born December 24, 1952 in Cleveland, OH to the late Mary and William Hastings. He was a connoisseur of dad jokes, the type to moo in a crowd of slow moving people or tell his teen daughter that Bon Jovi called while she was out. His calm nature provided an irreplaceable refuge for his children and grandchildren.
During his younger years, Bill worked in the computer industry before it was cool and enjoyed golfing with his buddies. In retirement, he took on many hobbies and impressed everyone by excelling in them all, from cooking large holiday meals to building elaborate fairy doors. Other pursuits included growing orchids, collecting marbles and typewriters and perfecting the art of avoiding bothersome people. Bill's ability to take life in stride and not sweat the little things is something to strive for.
He is deeply missed by daughters Christine Piazza and Amy McDonald; grandchildren Anthony, Annalea, Zakary and Rowan; great-grandson Troy; siblings Mary Ellen Hagenauer, Timothy, Dan and Rosanne; and nieces Sarah, Megan and Theresa.
Celebration of Life Saturday, March 29 at 1:00pm at Bain Cabin in Cleveland, 21077 N. Park Dr. Casual attire.
