William M. Hayes

William M. Hayes died on Monday, April 28, 2014 at the NYS Veterans Home at Montrose.
Bill was born September 1, 1927 to Mabel Jane Libby and William J. Hayes. He graduated from White Plains High School and Rider University. He started his Banking career at County Trust Co. and then was the Assistant Vice President at National Bank of Westchester. He continued his career with NYS Banking Department as Bank Examiner and retired as Assistant Vice President. He was the Past President of the Hendrick Hudson Lions Club and member of the Cortlandt Stamp Club. He married Laura Carey in Ossining, NY on May 27, 1951.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Laura; devoted daughter, Maureen Trautmann (Edward); adoring grandchildren, Erin, Kaci, Allison, Lindsay, Michael and Christopher; loving great grandchildren, Katelyn, Shelby, Madison, Angelina, Nickolas, Mason, Owen, Brogan and Hudson and his great-great granddaughter Sophia Rose. He is also survived by his daughter- in-law, Julie Hayes and sisters-in-law, June (Tom) Reddy and Ida (Daniel) Cassidy. He was predeceased by his beloved son Michael in December of 2013.
Our heartfelt thanks to all who took care of him at the Veterans Home. We deeply appreciate everyone's care and compassion for Bill.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at the EDWARD F. CARTER FUNERAL HOME, 41 GRAND ST. CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 3rd at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Augustine's Cemetery in Ossining.
