William J. "Bill" Hemsoth

WILLIAM J. "BILL" HEMSOTH, 85, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005, at Regency Place, Fort Wayne. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. He retired from Concordia Theological Seminary in 1984, after 27 years of service in the maintenance department. His joy was farming, which he continued to do until he fell ill the first of April. He square danced with the Promenaders for 25 years, volunteered at the Lutheran Home, Veterans Hospital, and was a member of the Parkview Seniors Club. Survivjed by sons, Tom Hemsoth, Gary (Karen) Hemsoth, both of New Haven; Richard (Diane) Hemsoth of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan (Terry) Kieffer of Fort Wayne; sisters, Velma Zelt of Hoagland, Margaret (Ed) Fick of Fort Wayne and Leona Branning of Arcola; nine grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis, in 2003; grandson, Andrew Hemsoth; and sisters, Esther Koeneman and Doretta Schlegel. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 East State Blvd., Fort Wayne. Calling is from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana Hwy. 930 E., New Haven. Burial is in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peters Lutheran Church.
