William Cleo Holden, Jr., 78, passed away on December 9, 2024, in Virginia. Born on November 23, 1946 in Greenfield, IN, to Irene (Bainter) Holden and William Cleo Holden, Sr. Bill served honorably in the Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his dedication and bravery.

Following his military service, Bill embarked on a career in the automotive industry, working at Riley Park Tire in Greenfield and AOK Tires in Florida, before retiring from Pinellas County Schools in 2010. His professional life was marked by a strong work ethic and a commitment to service.

An avid fisherman in his earlier years, Bill later discovered a passion for woodworking, a hobby that brought him great joy and satisfaction. He also enjoyed Christmas movies, a tradition that brought warmth and joy to his holiday. He loved to make everyone laugh and was quick with a joke or funny expression.

Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 45 years, Penny Holden, and a devoted family, including his daughters Toni Sluss of Farmville, VA, Cathy Sluss of Glenwood, IN, Karen (Harry) Tanksley of Connersville, IN, Annette (Scott) Palmer of Greenfield, and Melinda (Don) Shoebridge of Huntington, IN. He is also survived by his son, Rusty (Francis) Sluss of Lumberton, NC, along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss him dearly.
