William Hoover Sr.
William K. "Bill" Hoover Sr., 70, of Chippewa Township, Beaver County died Friday at The Medical Center in Beaver.
Born July 5, 1936, in Kittanning, he was the son of Frances G. Delp of Kittanning and the late Roy A. Hoover Sr.
He was a retired plant supervisor from the Hanson Chemical Co. and a maintenance foreman with Koppers Chemical plant in Petrolia and Bridgeville.
He was a scout master with the Rochester Sea Scouts, a life member of the Rochester B.P.O.E. 283 and a member of the former First United Presbyterian Church in Rochester.
Mr. Hoover loved boating, roller skating and working with computers.
In addition to his mother, he was survived by his wife, Mary Belle J. Jamieson Hoover; a son, William J. "Jim" Hoover and his wife, Sandra, of East Brady; two daughters, Melinda A. Walsh of Hooksett, N.H., and Kimberly J. Johnson and her husband, Kevin, of Orange Park, Fla.; six grandchildren, Jamie Rogers and her husband, Scott, of Erie, Lauren Hoover of East Brady, Maegan Nelson of Reno, Nev., and Emily Haley and Carly Johnson of Orange Park, Fla.; two brothers, Jon Hoover and his wife, Karen, of Clearwater, Fla., and Gregory Hoover and his wife, Mary, of Bartow, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his father; a son, William K. Hoover Jr., in 1993; two brothers, Roy Hoover Jr. in 1983, and Lawrence Hoover in 2001.
Hoover - Friends of William K. "Bill" Hoover Sr., who died Friday, June 8, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the William murphy funeral home, 349 Adams St., Rochester. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frank R. Churchill Jr. officiating and the Rev. Bill Silver assisting. Burial will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
