Tuesday night my Papaw (William Padgett) passed away. He relentlessly fought bone marrow cancer and with the love and support of family, friends, and especially that of my Nana Pat, the tough ol' bird battled it for 2 years. He was a Husband, Father, Papaw, Brother, Uncle, Son and will truly be missed by everyone. Papaw, heres to a whole lot more holes in one, and many miller lites. For while u were with us, you played a perfect game! I Love You Papaw! Have a cold one waitin' on me when I see you again!!

He was born on his daddy's farm a place called Snow Hill,
He grew tall and strong his name was Bill,
And became a true Ooltewah Owl basketball star,
Then he went to Okinawa a place off way to far,
He came home from the Korean War to start a new life,
Ended up marrying Miss Patsy Cagle a beautiful wife,
He loved golf, farmers called it cow pasture pool,
He liked cold Miller Beer, he was definitely old school,
He was a UT Vol fan from birth to his grave,
If he had played baseball he would have been an Atlanta Brave,
Loved his country and saluted his flag standing proud and tall,
He enjoyed sitting by the pool and hated going to the mall,
Dying of cancer he had them bring him home to Snow Hill where he took his first breath of life,
And took his last one on his daddy's farm in the arms of his wife..... May God rest your soul Billy Joe Padgett.
