I would like to thank everyone for a lifetime of support and love. You have all contributed to recapture the beloved memory of my Grandfather (The Late Great William "June" Jefferies). Let us remember to pray for each other, both family and friends, as we continue the legacy which my grandfather pioneered. May we carry out his will to prosper and grow rich with love for one another. We were all blessed to have shared his love.

Thanks and Love,

Tasha Bennett

Mr. Jefferies,

How do I put into words how you impacked my life. You always would tell Mike and myself about the values of money. I remember one Christmas we bought Mr. Jefferies a 16 piece cup set and he was upset with us. He would tell us to save our money for the kids. I really dont even thing he took the wrapping paper off of the box. That was Mr. Jefferies for ya! I will remember the long talks about life, loving your family while there here and taking care of business. Mr. Jefferies was a great GRANDFATHER-IN-LAW and Will be missed dearly.

Love, Tasha

"Mr. J," is what I called my Father-In-Law. He loved to reminisce about times long ago. Mr. J. ALWAYS had a story to tell especially about the History of Bluefield. He LOVED to EAT and he was a bit of a "Cook." (Smile) I will Miss his daily phone calls that we shared and his visits. I WILL Greatly Miss his Presence. Mr. J. loved his family and I know that he Truely Loved me.

With Great Love, Pam

To my Sister Tempe and Brothers William and CD,
First of all I want to say is that I Thank God for you all and that I miss "MY DADDY" too. I especially miss talking to him on Sunday Evening at 9 pm, that was the time My Daddy or myself would call each other and talk about his week or whatever, he wanted to talk about. I will miss comimg home and my Daddy would be sitting in the big room with the heat on and the temperature in the house would be around 85 degrees, it would be in the month of August HOT OUTSIDE (SMILES). Are when me and Raymond,Jeffery and Mark would come home, Bub and Bell would come up from Charlotte,NC, Tempe Mike and Mike and Tasha and their children K'hari, Michael,William and Sonya,CD and Pamela,Mel and Cloyd. We would all get together at my Dad's home we would cook and have a Family Dinner everynight. We would have so much fun! We WILL continue this Family Tradition. Now that Our Daddy is no longer with us, we still have Memories of him, which we hold dearly in our hearts. My Daddy still lives on threw each of us. My Daddy left us a Legacy of LOVE.
Daddy I LOVE YOU and MISS You.

Family, I just have to let everyone know, I appreciate the love and support I felt, that kept me going and doing for my daddy. I know God is good. I only did what I could and I thank C.D. for being on the same mind- frame and decided to let my daddy come home to rest from our last hospital visit. We were tired and my daddy was tired of it all, that was what he said.
I am truly glad he was home and he passed in his sleep without a peep.

To my family, friends and my Dad:

Family, you all were so great at the passing of my Daddy. The smiles, looks and hugs showed your love. The caring people we are is strong. Some just cry when we see each other. This was one of our sad gatherings, not like our JWH reunions. This was a crying time for us all and you helped me through.

To friends who traveled to be with our family, who called to wish us well, sent a card and so much more I thank you for the love you gave and the love are still giving as we meet. Made me feel good to hear you say. "He was like a dad to you."

My dad and I grew closer in the final months. He was still bossy and wanted us to release him, let him go. And I did want to hold him here.

He wanted to stay with us but his pain was there. He did not complain. In all his years he never complained of pain, but I saw it in his face near the end.

I am proud to say that WJJ,Jr this man was "My DADDY" who I will always LOVE.

To my sister's and brother Jeannette, Tempe and C.D. I think "MY DADDY" liked me best, but he LOVED US ALL.

We can all ask later.

He is now with "MY MAMA" and all of the family of heaven, in a reunion.

I can not bring them back to me but I can live that I might go to them.

Love you Dad, I will hold EVERY DAY we had special. You taught me well.

Your son,

Laura Harris Waddy

To my family:
When I lost my husband in 2007, Uncle June called to assure me he would be attending the service if Bubble or CD got him there and he was there. After the service had come and gone, I soon realized that I wasn't handling my Lgrief as well as I thought, so I sort of withdrew especially from visits and phone calls.
One Sunday, Uncle June called and I didn't take the call and he called a second tim e that evening leaving a message 'just checking on you'.
The following Sunday he called again. But this Sunday, he called Mama to be sure he had the right number and then she outfitted him with Stef's (daughter) and Gee's (son) numbers because she knew what I was doing. She left me nowhere to hide! His call was brief:He wanted to know how I was doing and to let me know that he had a good listening ear if I ever needed to talk to someone. Then he told ne not to try to hide anymore because he had 'people'!! UNCLE JUNE I LOVE YOU NOT JUST FOR THAT OFFER BUT FOR BEING YOU! PEANUT,BUB,TEMP,CD I LUV U ALL!!!!

It still seems soo unreal to me that my grandad is gone. I wanted to pick him up and tightly hold him in my arms while he layed there as if he were asleep. It's gonna be hard, but we'll make it through. I know he's in a better place now! Although we had our differences (smile) I will surely miss him.

Thanks To All My Family/Friends for being there for me. I Will ALWAYS be here for you. :)

Love Always.... Carmela

To CD and the Jeffries family: You know I feel your loss. I am so sorry I could not be there to celebrate his life with you as he and you celebrated Mom's life with the Haynes family a short time ago. I am thankful that I had that last opportunity to see him. Mr. Jeff always gave of himself and whatever he had to everyone. He offered his home and his help when we were kids wanted to cookout despite the rain, or when we wanted to surprise our Mom for her birthday. Our prayers are with you and all your family. Take care and be blessed, Neecy

CD(Quick), Bubbles, and Family...
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your Family during these times. "Mr. Jeff" was the perfect father role model for me when I was growing up. "BIG RESPECT" I respected him like he was my own dad, he taught me alot being around him. Mr. Jeff was a Neighborhood Icon, he did alot for our community, responsible and caring that was the Mr. Jeff, as I remembered him. I regret that I did not have the chance to see him one more time before he passed away. Mr. Jeff may be gone but his legacy lives on, in You All and all of us who really knew him. God Bless You All....

Family: we are truly going to miss Uncle June! He has made us laugh and smile so many times. Often times I would get a call or a card from him for "no reason" and that would speak strongly for his love of this family. I know that the loss of a parent has to be difficult but you now have another angel to keep protective wings around you (us) all. God bless you!

Bubbles & Family,
It is with deep sympathy and sorrow that we share in the passing of your father. We affectionately called him Mr. Jeff and had fond memories of him while growing up in Bluefield on Ellis Street. Mr. Jeff delivered our coal on Ellis Street and he always would check on our Mother, Margaret Walls to see if she needed anything. God saw that Mr. Jeff was getting tired and called him home to be with him. Remember to be absent from the the body is to be present with the Lord.

Our prayers and thoughts are with you and the family and may GOD continue to comfort and strengthen you in your time of need.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. God is your stronghold, and with Him as your guide, you need never be afraid. No circumstances can block His love. No grief is too hard for Him to bear. No task is too difficult for Him to complete. When what you are feeling is simply too deep for words and nothing anyone does or says can provide you with the relief you need, God understands, He is your provider-today, tomorrow, and always. Cast all of your cares on Him and believe. May your troubled heart find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. May God presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest, He know how you feel. He is ever aware of your circumstances and ready to be your strength, your grace, and your peace.
