William Kelsey Obituary
William J. Kelsey, 71, of Newington died on Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Gilberto) Kelsey for 45 years. Born in Chicopee, MA, a son of the late Edward and Monica (Smagacz) Kelsey, he lived in Middletown and New Britain, before moving to Newington nine years ago. Bill had been employed at CNG and the NASDAQ prior to retirement. He enjoyed freshwater fishing, was a member of the Newington Senior Center and was a friend of Bill W. Bill was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins and the New England Patriots. Besides his wife, he leaves his son Kevin Kelsey of New Britain, grandson Carl Kelsey, seven brothers and sisters: Daniel, David, Thomas, Deborah, Lynne, Ann Marie, Regina and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call at the Newington Memorial Funeral Home, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington on Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Interment will be private. Joan, It's Keith writing - I was Bill's original sponsor - I lived in Middletown at the time. Bill was a good friend, and when a group of us got together, he always got us laughing with his wry sense of humor. Although i had not seen him in many years, I will miss him.
