William C. Kuhns
William C. Kuhns, 58, of Palmer Township, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 in his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with colon cancer. He was the husband of Nancy (Matol) Kuhns, with whom he celebrated 39 years of marriage. He was a graduate of Neshaminy High School in 1968 and retired from Verizon after 30 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling with his family. He especially enjoyed taking an annual spring fishing trip to Loughborough Lake in Ontario, and summer vacations to Holden Beach, N.C. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Born in Philadelphia, Bill was the son of Richard Kuhns and the late A. Patricia (Glover) Kuhns. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Bethlehem. Survivors: He is survived by his wife, Nancy; sons, Michael Kuhns and his wife, Christine, of East Stroudsburg, Stephen Kuhns and his wife, Jenni, of Whitehall; cherished granddaughters, Katelyn, Allison and Olivia; father, Richard and stepmother, Dorothy of Palm Coast, Fla.; uncle and aunt, Robert and Janice Kuhns of Macungie. He will also be missed by a large extended family and circle of friends. In addition to his mother, Bill was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Francis, and stillborn son, Daniel Matthew Kuhns. Services: will be held 11 a.m. Saturday in Wesley Church, 2540 Center St., Bethlehem, with the Rev. J. William Lentz Jr. presiding. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday from 7-9 p.m. in the Schmidt Funeral Home, 407 Belvidere St., Nazareth and 10 a.m. Saturday till time of service in the church.
