William Leyden Obituary
age 29, of Stamford, formerly of Fairfield passed away suddenly on March 1, 2008. He is the beloved son of Margaret (Penny) Berry Leyden, of Trumbull and Raymond (Bill) Leyden, of Stamford. Additionally, he is remembered by his brother, Matthew Leyden, of Trumbull; his paternal grandmother, Doris Schober Leyden, of Kansas; one uncle, Richard Leyden, and his wife, Barbara, of Kansas; two aunts, Charlotte Kantz, and her husband, Marcus, Betsy Revzin, and her husband, Philip, all of New Jersey; several cousins. Born in New York City, Tom grew up in Fairfield, and was a resident of Stamford for 12 years. Tom worked for Shaw's Market in Darien prior to his recent employment with Stop & Shop Market in Norwalk. He enjoyed reading well written celebrity biographies and did study his bible. Throughout his life, traveling with his family around the country was a true highlight. During those adventures, Tom would especially focus on learning about the regions they were visiting. Listening to music and reviewing rock and roll trivia were very entertaining to Tom. He belonged to the G.O.A.L.D, where he had many friends. Funeral services for Tom will be held on Saturday at 1PM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center. Friends may greet his family one hour prior to his service. His burial will follow in Lawncroft Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to: G.O.A.L.D. through the funeral home. Dear Penny, Bill & Matt,
I am so saddened to hear of the loss of Tom. Words cannot adequately express my sympathy to you. I will remember the dinners with him and the sharpness of his mind in math, he could figure out the tip faster than anyone I have ever met. I can only pray that God will comfort you in loosing Tom so suddenly to illness. I pray that he will give you the strength and comfort you need each day and that your heart will soon find comfort in his cherished memory.

Bill - words cannot express my sorrow at hearing of the loss of your son. I recall a conversation we had a number of years ago when you spoke of Tom with pride at his achievements. To Tom's Family: Tom was such a great person, and I will miss him dearly at GOALD. He made me feel welcome in the group and extended his warm friendship on my first day when I knew almost no one.

I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to Tom's family. I am very sad to have read of his passing. Tom, who we had called "Bill", was a very hard-working volunteer at the Connecticut Humane Society in Westport when I worked there. He assisted me with many jobs at CHS and was a very conscientious worker. He was always interested in learning and eager to help with the animals. I enjoyed his presence. He was a good person. He is in my thoughts as is his family.
