William Lofstrom Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 16 to Jul. 20, 2022.
William "Billy" Brad Lofstrom - a self proclaimed "man before his time" - passed away peacefully in his home on Fathers Day, June 19, 2022.

William was born on Aug. 21, 1949, in Hartford, as the oldest child of William A. and June Lofstrom. After graduating from Manchester High School in 1967, he enlisted in the Army as part of the 101st Airborne. In 1969, he was deployed to Hue, Vietnam with the 82nd Airborne. After receiving an honorable discharge from the Army in 1971, William settled back into life as a civilian and started a successful construction company, Lofstrom Construction Inc (LCI) in 1973. His greatest source of pride, however, were his two daughters, Christy and Elizabeth, born in 1982 and 1989 respectively. Between 2004 and 2014, William found five new reasons to smile his big smile as he became Papa to his five grandchildren. Bill was a mentor and a friend to many. If you needed him, he was there, because he made it a point to always show up. Whether he was working, cooking, or coaching his daughters' sports teams, he set his standards high and worked to achieve them. Bill was a man of many talents. He was no nonsense but was always the life of the party. He was passionate about travel, food, music, learning and, most of all, his family. He was a creative problem solver and a man of many ideas. Bill will be remembered for his sound advice, quick wit, infectious smile, and the love and stories he shared with those who knew him best.

William was preceded in death by his parents WIlliam A and June Lofstrom. He is survived by his daughters and their families, Christy Driscoll and Tyler Driscoll, Elizabeth Stefanovicz and Joel Stefanovicz, Julienna, Amelie, Lucy, Ava, and Samson; as well as siblings, Linda Piolunek, Peter Lofstrom and Carole Bis; in addition to his many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held in William's honor on July 30 at Urban Lodge Brewing from 2 to 5 p.m. This is a casual event and all who knew Bill are welcome to join to remember and celebrate this great man.
