Mr. William M. Longmuir of Melrose, formerly of Malden, died Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2005 at the Harborside at Wakefield Nursing Home. William was born November 16, 1917, son of the late William M.Longmuir and Margaret A. (Inglis) Longmuir. Mr. Longmuir was a member of the Vespa George Art School. He had worked for HP Hood Company in Charlestown for 45 years. He enjoyed photography, art, nature and swimming. He served in the 7th Fighter Command of the United States Air Force during WWII. He was the beloved husband of Barbara A. (Leary) Longmuir and the loving and devoted father of William M. Longmuir III of Newport, ME, Stephen A. Longmuir of Topsfield, Diane M. Drake and Deborah A. Jewers, both of New Boston, NH. Brother of Charles Longmuir of Lynnfield, Margaret Kenney of Melrose and the late Walter Longmuir and Jean Wilcox. Also survived by 9 grandchildren. Funeral service at the First Congregational Church, 121 West Foster St., Melrose, Thursday, Aug. 18 at 1 PM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours at the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main St., MELROSE Wednesday, 4-8 PM. Gifts in his memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 311 Arsenal St., Watertown, MA 02472. Interment will be in Wyoming Cemetery, Melrose, MA. Arrangements by the Robinson Funeral Home, 809 Main Street, Melrose, MA.
