I was sorry to hear of Bill's death. He and Marilyn rented from my parents George and Virginia Pitts in New Castle. Bill took videos of my wedding in 1965. I felt very privileged to know him and Marilyn. He will be very much missed. My sincere sympathy to Marilyn and family.

Goodbye Mr. Bill
You will be missed. I'll catch up with you and we will continue our war stories over some beers. Is the beer free up there?
Goodbye Bill

My prayers are with my good friend Bill and his family. Bill and I go back to those Cold War days in the 50s and 60s at Pease. He was a remarkable guy and a great Air Force officer. I will miss him but I'll never forget him.

God be with you Bill! Enjoyed your first hand Obit. As usual you nailed it as you did many targets all over the world. I was the next to enter that low level the night you walked away from the crash on final at Plattsburg. You were a miracle to all in the 100th Bomb Wing. We wish you Godspeed in your flight to heaven. Love you, Don & Brenda Smith

Dear Sue, I am so sorry for your loss. Stories you've told of your visits with him to his military reunions certainly showed me how deeply attached you two were and gave me a glimpse into the man he was. Reading his obituary was astounding. His dedication to service to all Americans was incredible. My deepest sympathies.

Bill was a wonderful human being. I first met Bill in 1994 at Rivermoor Landing. Bill quickly became a friend and confidant. His sage advice and even temper were always welcome in some difficult situations. When I became very ill in 1999 Bill spent a huge amount of time at my bed side at Exeter Hospital encouraging me, and comforting my family. His encouragement I believe helped me recover fully. I will be eternally grateful for all he did for me during that period.
Bill was an extraordinarily devoted husband who devoted much of his later years caring for her Marylyn. Bill had great love for his family, friends and his country. He was a proud combat veteran who served the US Air Force with distinction. He was a fine American and a great friend.
Thank you Major for all you did for all of us. God Speed on your Journey. God Bless You my Friend and May you RIP.
