MARSH WILLIAM TIMBLIN "BILL"
Of Bonita Springs, FL, formerly of Fox Chapel, PA died on April 1, 2007, concluding an extended battle with cancer. Bill was born August 6, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, the youngest child of William F. and Mildred T. Marsh. He graduated Mercersburg Academy in 1949, Yale University in 1953 and served three years in the U.S. Coast Guard before getting his LLB, JD from the University of Pennsylvania in 1959. He pursued his legal career with a major Pittsburgh law firm from several years and then accepted the challenge of creating a new position as Vice President and General Counsel of Sprang & Company of Butler, PA which he held for 30 years before retiring to Bonita Springs in 1998. Bill consistently contributed his talents to the community over the years, from Little League coach, Indian Guides leader and Scoutmaster to Borough Council of Fox Chapel Borough and President of his Bonita Bay Homeowners Association. His two most significant contributions were serving as pro bono general and trial counsel for the medical staff of Butler County Hospital System as part of an effort to redirect the system and better serve the community; and the founding of Foxwall EMS, which after 30 years still provides quality paramedic and emergency medical services to the Boroughs of Fox Chapel and Aspinwall. Bill was a member and elder of Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church where his service included two separate terms as Clerk of Session; an affiliate member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs; a member of Fox Chapel Golf Club and the Bonita Bay Club; and past President of the Fox Chapel Racquet Club. Bill his survived by his lifetime sweetheart and loving wife of 53 years, Mary McNaugher "Polly" Marsh; son, William McNaugher "Bill" Marsh, M.D. (Stefanie) and his 5 children of Wolfeboro, NH; daughter, Margaret McNaugher Marsh, M.Ed. and her child, Mary of Aspinwall, PA; son, Robert McNaugher "Rob" Marsh, MBA, CFA (Tracey) and his 2 children of Pittsburgh, PA; and his sister, Barbara Marsh "Bobbe" Lewis, of Tucson, AZ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David McNaugher Marsh and a sister, Patricia "Patty" Marsh. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 6, 2007 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at WALTER SHIKANY'S BONITA FUNERAL HOME 28300 Tamiami Tr. So. Bonita Springs. (239) 992-4982 Family Owned Since 1978. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 PM with Rev. Dr. Doug Pratt, officiating. Additional services will be held April 28 at 10AM at the Fox Chapel Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh, PA. Interment will be private. In Lieu of flowers, a charitable contribution is suggested to the Foxwall EMS, 403 Fox Chapel Rd., Pittsburgh, PA 15238 or to Joanne's House at Hope Hospice 27200 Imperial St. Bonita Springs, FL 34135.
