William Mellor

William Herbert Mellor Jr., a devoted servant, veteran, and spiritual leader, passed away on June 3, 2025, in Salisbury, Maryland. He was 92 years old.

Born on April 8, 1933, in Ellicott City, Maryland, William Mellor Jr. led a life marked by service-to his country, his faith, and communities both near and far. His journey began with a commitment to education that would shape his future path. He studied at John Marshall Law School and George Washington University before further deepening his spiritual calling through the Institute of Ministry.

William proudly served in the United States Navy, demonstrating early on his dedication to duty and country. Following his military service, he turned his focus toward ministry and humanitarian work that would span decades and touch countless lives.

His missionary work took him to Haiti, where he shared his faith and compassion with those in need. Back home in Maryland, he served as pastor of New Testament Tabernacle and became the first house parent at the Samaritan Shelter in Pocomoke. His commitment to helping others extended beyond state lines-he played a key role in helping to establish a women's shelter in Sebring, Florida.

Throughout his life, William embodied the principles of service and faith. Whether guiding congregations or offering shelter to those without homes, he remained steadfast in his mission to uplift others.
