William Moran, Jr Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 6, 2024.
William Arnold Moran Jr, age 77, of Garner, NC passed away peacefully on December 2, 2024 after a battle with Parkinson's Disease. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family.

"Bill" as he was called was born on November 27, 1947 in Queens, NY to William A. Moran Sr. and Catherine (Cleary) Moran. He served in United States Air Force, enlisting after graduating high school. He was so proud of his Military Service.

Bill married Leta Jean (Casper) Moran on June 12, 1971. They had 53 amazing years of marriage at the time of his passing. They had three children, William C. Moran; wife Vanessa (Restrepo) Moran, Lisa K. Moran and Laura A. Moran. He had two grandchildren, Annabella and Will. He loved his family unconditionally and is missed beyond words.

Bill is preceded in death by father and mother. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, his sisters Regina (Moran) Angello and Noreen (Moran) Muir. He is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and in-laws as well as many friends who loved him dearly.

We will never forget his devotion to his family, his work ethic, his love of Doo Wop music and cop shows. He volunteered with Serve the Need in Johnston County and kept his membership in the American Legion active right up until the end. Anyone who knew him was so blessed to have done so. We miss him terribly.

A service to honor his life and memory will be held at a later date.
