Born in Hapeville, GA and a resident of Baton Rouge, Bill Mote passed away on Tuesday, August 01, 2017 at age 87. As an Industrial Electrical Supply Salesman for more than 30 years, Bill was employed by Graybar, Westinghouse and Nunn Electric. He is survived by his wife, Annie-Claire Mote of Baton Rouge; son and daughter-in-law, William E., Jr. and Misty Mote, of Boston, MA; grandson, William E. Mote, III of Boston; brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Gloria Mote of Sharpsburg, GA; sister-in-law, Terry Mote; and numerous nephews and nieces. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Henry A. and Mattie Mote; sister, Dorothy Greene; and two brothers, Robert and Kelley Mote. A 60 year member of Broadmoor Baptist Church, he also served as Deacon and youth leader at BBC (Training Union). Bill was a member of Sherwood Forest Country Club for many years serving as Tennis Committee Chairman, Senior Men's Golf Association President and member of the Board of Governors. He was a 27 year member and Past Master of St. James Masonic Lodge and a Board Member for Istrouma Area Boy Scouts of America. Bill played college football for Duke University and Florida State University, and in 1954 was drafted by the New York Football Giants. Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, Frank Dedman, Don Hutchinson, William Mote, III, Henry Mote, and Steve Selby. Honorary pallbearer will be George Jones. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East Chapel, 11000 Florida Blvd, on Friday, August 04, from 5 pm until 8 pm with Masonic Services at 7 pm. Visitation will resume on Saturday, August 05, from noon until religious services at 1 pm conducted by Rev. Bobby Rayburn and music by Rev. Paul Henderson, Broadmoor Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park. Please share condolences at www.rabenhorst.com.

Annie-Claire and family,
Very sorry to hear of Bill's passing, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you all. My dad was blessed to have Bill in his life, and I know they are having a blast jogging through Heaven! Please know that the Mote family means the world to us, we love you all! Mark Simpson

Annie Claire, Gloria and I were pleased that we were able to visit with you the night of Bill's visitation. I'm only sorry that it had to be under these circumstances. I'm sorry we didn't get a chance to meet your son and other family members, but as you'll recall we were all asked to sit down for the start of the Masonic Service.
