In loving memory of William Stanley Mullen, 1924-2011. Bill grew up in Forest Hills, New York and was a graduate of Brown University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. The successful owner/operator of Mullen Pump & Supply, he serviced companies like Ford Motor and Dow Chemical, assisting in development of proprietary delivery systems. Bill was generous with both his time and talent. He and Bobbie originated The Village Antiques Show and he donated over 1000 hours to The Henry Ford. He served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Birmingham for decades and on the Boards of Chemineer, Inc., Marian High School and the Horton Bay Club. Bill enjoyed tennis, fishing, dogs, the piano. But his avocation was the study and collecting of Early American Glass. He spent hours reading, browsing antique shops, attending shows and auctions. Over the years he and Bobbie assembled a renowned collection that chronicled the history of American glass and he shared his knowledge with other collectors and curators through his articles and lectures. Bill's favorite retreat was the cottage in the Horton Bay Club on Lake Charlevoix, where he and his family and friends had tons of fun. His family will remember his tireless working to provide them with the best, his generous support of all their endeavors, his mischievous appreciation for the ridiculous and his blue, blue eyes. He will be hugely missed by his wife, Bobbie, daughters Pam McEnroe and Jeanne Groat, nephew Stephen Falk, grandchildren Richard, Kathy and Elizabeth, and granddogs Jinx, Quigley and Fi. Rest in peace in the Lord. Funeral Mass Wednesday 11a.m. at Holy Name Church, 630 Harmon at Woodland, Birmingham. Visitation at church begins 10a.m. Memorial tributes to Angels' Place, 25240 Lahser Rd., Ste 2, Southfield, MI 48034 or Corning Museum of Glass, One Museum Way, Corning, NY 14830.
