GASTONIA - William Lytle Payseur, 93, passed away Feb. 15, 2014 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
A native of Gaston County, he was the son of the late William C. Payseur and Corrie Moten Payseur.
Mr. Payseur was a member of Covenant Baptist Church and he worked for Joe Brown at Spencer Pettus Machine Shop, where he retired. He was a World War II United States Army veteran.
He is survived by his sons, William L. Payseur Jr. and wife Letha of Gastonia, Gerald Ty Payseur and wife Beth of Franklin; daughter, Jan Payseur Gray and husband Walter of Gastonia; son-in-law, Atwell Overcash of High Shoals; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Clark Payseur; and daughter, Lewellyn Payseur Overcash.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Covenant Baptist Church with the Rev. Olin Byrum III officiating.
Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Covenant Baptist Church Building Fund, 3131 Erskine Dr., Gastonia, NC 28054.
