William Pettit Obituary

William Pettit age 69, son of Robert J. Pettit and Sylvia C. Pettit passed away unexpectedly on April 3rd 2022 after suffering a massive heart attack. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Kathleen Pettit. Bill grew up in Castro Valley California with his parents and 2 sisters Roberta and Claire .

In the early 1970's Bill left his job at Western Electric and moved to Pismo Beach. There he lived for a few years working at different jobs and enjoying the beach life. He returned to Castro Valley in the late 1970's and to his previous job at Western Electric. It was there in 1980 he met Kathy Fike. Bill and Kathy were married on February 4th 1983.. after the closure of Western Electric now AT&T he went to work for Anixter in 1992. And he remained working there until his retirement of 30 years.

Bill moved his growing family in 1994 from Castro Valley to Bakersfield then to Utah eventually settling in Sparks NV. Bill always being a hard worker with an excellent work ethic had a successful career with Anixter. He was well respected by his peers and made many friends along the way.

Bill had a passion for cooking and enjoyed eating, drinking tequila and porter beer. He was known for his great stories . Bill loved and was so proud of his family.

"Billy", as many lovingly called him will be missed by all his family and friends

I worked with Bill at Anixter. We started about the same time and he joined my Project Team a few years later. Bill was a conscientious, dedicated, and hard-working team member who always ensured the customer's end result was achieved and no stone was left unturned. Bill and I were the same age and often joked about who would retire first. I retired a few years earlier and we kept in touch. He'd update me on his family who he loved dearly and what he was working on. I was happy to hear when he retired and then shocked and saddened to learn of his passing too soon afterwards. I feel blessed to have known such a thoughtful and caring person and think of him often. Bill's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him and he will not be forgotten.

I would like to say how truely sorry I am for this unexpected tragedy that happened to him and his wonderful family.Ive known Bill along time and he truely loved his family and was a very good man. He had great morals and stood by them. He was a great provider and was a great husband to my sister. And a wonderful Father. Peace be with you now Bill.
