William Pruett Jr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 6, 2024.
William Edward Pruett, known affectionately as "Bubba," "Billy," or "Big Bill," departed this life at the age of 68 on July 29, 2024, in Pasadena, Texas. He was born to the late William Sr. and Audrey Pruett on May 10, 1956, in Griffin, Georgia and was a proud graduate of Deer Park High School's Class of 1975.

William dedicated 23 years to the Deer Park Independent School District, where his commitment to and the well-being of students will be fondly remembered. His passions ran deep for golfing, fishing, country western dancing, and a friendly game of darts. Above all, he was the epitome of a generous soul, always ready to extend a helping hand.

He leaves behind a loving family: Sisters Judy Pruett-Brown with her husband Garry Brown, and Debbie Westbrook. His memory will be cherished by his nieces and nephews: Heather Boyd, Kimberly Westbrook with her husband Steven Shewell, Lacey Ince with her husband David Ince, Racheal Swor with her husband George Swor, and Nathan Brown. His legacy will live on through his great-nieces and nephews: Ashton, Delilah, and Johnathan Boyd; DJ Ince, Jace and Skylar Shewell; Zachary Brown; Lincoln and Jackson Swor.

William was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Karon Lake, Joyce Jent, and Larry Pruett; and nephews Scott Lake and Christopher Westbrook.

The family invites loved ones and friends to a service in remembrance of William's life on Saturday, August 10, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 5:00 PM at the Maxwell Center, located at 1201 Center St., Deer Park, Texas 77536.

In honor of William's giving nature, the family suggests that charitable contributions to assist with funeral expenses be made via Venmo @Racheal-Swor. His spirit of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire those who knew him.
