William Douglas Rampley

Mr. William Douglas Rampley, 68, of Calhoun, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007, in the Gordon Hospital.William was born in Blairsville, on Nov. 2, 1938, and was a resident of Gordon County. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gladys Roberts Rampley.Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Mary Evelyn Rampley; sons, Doug Rampley and Greg Rampley, both of Calhoun; daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Charles Mullins of Plainville; grandchildren, Tara Correll, Michelle Caudill, Cassie Rampley, Jonathan Rampley, Lexi Rampley and Chasity Hulet; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Justin Correll, Jacob, Kayla and Lindsay Caudill, all of Calhoun; sisters and brothers-in-law, Shirley and Carlton Couch of Chatsworth, Brenda and Allen Latinzi of Camden, S.C.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Martha Rampley, Phillip and Carolyn Rampley, Joe and Gail Rampley, all of Chatsworth, and Garry Rampley of Dallas, Texas; and nieces and nephews also survive.Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Peeples Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Laster and the Rev. Lamar Bearden officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery in Blairsville. Pallbearers will be Lester Duvall, Herschel Sexton, Terry Wright, Dennis Edwards, Larry Bryant and Jim Bell. Honorary pallbearers will be James Talley, Sid Painter, Jerry Clark, George Breeden and Jeffrey Nicholson.The family will receive friends at the funeral home today after 4 p.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.Peeples Funeral Home of Chatsworth is in charge of the funeral arrangements.www.legacy.com
