I accompanied a friend to Dr. Steven Curry today and as we were talking I spoke of Dr Ray.. Dr Curry informed me of his death.. I was shocked beyond words. I worked with him a short time but enjoyed the time I did. There are no words. But I just need to say he was very kind and a very good Dentist. God Bless

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dr. Bill Ray. I have had the pleasure of teaching Dr. Ray in periodontics at the WVU School of Dentistry. He was a very good student combining expert clininical expertise with emphatic patient care. May God bless the family during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to each and everyone of Bill's family and friends, especially Linda and children. I knew Bill, along with his parents and all his siblings, way back in our younger yrs growing up in Craigsville/Cottle WV. He was my dentist back in the late 80s. When I moved to Virginia my new dentist, Dr David Konikoff, raved about Bill's work. Bill was so friendly and such a good person. I pray that God gives each and everyone of you the love and strength you need to get through this tremendous loss. Goodbye Bill. May you rest peacefully. <3

I servrd with Billy for several years while we were in the US Army.. I alswaysrespeced him as a soldier, a dental office and as a friend.. I always liked having Billy around because of him humor . He was just fun to be around. In my view, Billy always displayed his patriotism and belief in the Army values. It was an honor and priivilige to serve with LTC Bill Ray.

Bill is my cousin. But, he was so much more than that. He was more like a big brother. I have many fond memories of Bill along with his brothers and sister. I also had the privilege of serving with Bill in 1st Bn. 201st Field Artillery, he is an outstanding officer. I am still very shocked and heart broken from the news I received. I have many Bill stories and he will not be forgotten, he made a huge impact on my life and I will never forget everything he taught me and did for me. Linda I love you and the kids, my thoughts and prayers are with each of you during this time. I am here if any of you ever need anything. Love you. Jeremy.

Bill was my cousin and there are many fond memories though one that stands out above the rest (the rest being things like camping out in the Cottle backyard and eating fudge until we were all sick, smelling Aunt Gail's famous biscuits, throwing darts in the barn in Bedington, etc. etc.) was that Bill made a special trip to visit me at the KKMC ammunition compound when we were deployed for Operation Desert Storm. Aside from being an Officer and a Gentleman, Bill was a good man and even though life has been in the way and we have not seen one another for quite some time Bill will be missed.

Our families prayers are with each and everyone of you!

God Bless,
Rodney and Family

I always looked up to Bill and loved him like a big brother. I spent lots of time at his house as a child when I stayed with Sis and will never forget the memories of Bill, Tim, David, and Kenny scaring us to death with stories of an old man who lived under the house. At times I was afraid to even let my feet touch the floor...so many fun memories of Aunt Gail's house with my cousins. Your death brings so much sadness, but your life provided so many happy memories...too many to share here. I love you Bill. I am sending my thoughts and prayers to the rest of the family.
