William Schulte Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 22, 2018.
Dr. William C. Schulte, 96, of Hot Springs passed away peacefully on February 21, 2018. He was born on March 2, 1921 in Vandelia, Illinois to the late Charles and Virginia Schulte.
Dr. Schulte proudly served in the United States Airforce as a Colonel and served through many conflicts including WWII and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was incredibly patriotic and loved his country; after serving in the military he and his wife relocated to Hot Springs where he opened his own oral and maxillofacial practice. Dr. Schulte enjoyed his work immensely until his retirement when he was able to hone his golfing skills. He was also a member of First United Methodist Church.
Meeting Dr. Schulte in Heaven are his parents; loving wife, Adona; siblings, Jean Davis and Thomas Allen Schulte; and niece, Karen Davis Ennis.
Left to cherish his memory is his sister-in-law, Diane Schulte; Holly Reed (Michael) and their children, Cayden Napier and Caison Reed; nieces, Linda Davis and Nancy Davis; nephew, Richard Schulte and nieces, Susan Schulte O'Gara and Sally Schulte Dulin; as well as fifteen great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his caregivers, Rose Beard, Tim Ferguson and Santana Hood for all of their care and support.
Per his request, Dr. Schulte will be laid to rest in a private ceremony next to his wife in Vandelia, Illinois.

Dear Schulte family,

Dr. Schulte was a customer of ours for some years. Like clockwork we would see him at least once a month to get his financial papers copied for the accountant. He appreciated precision and efficiency and did not mind telling you if you failed to meet expectations! But what a dear man. If he decided to wait while I took care of his copy needs, he would often share a story about his military or surgical life or about his darling Adona. He seemed to have a tough exterior but when he talked about her, his face would soften and glow with the love he had for her and often a tear would come to his eye. He will be missed.

Rest in peace, my friend. You were an inspiration to me and I'm sure to others, also. Your training in the military allowed you to transition to public life and become one of the best oral surgeons around. Your love, adoration and devotion to your beautiful wife, Adona, was evident in all that you did. You touched many people in your abundant life. I truly enjoyed being your barber since 1980. I only wish I could recall all the stories that you shared with me. I will miss those wonderful experiences you allowed me to participate in.
