It was with great saddness that I learned of Bill's passing. He was a gentle man. Despite his illness he worked pleasantly and effectively at Soldiers & Sailors. His quiet, unassuming way never revealed his courage and Bronze Star from the Battle of the Bulge. It was someone else who told me the story. Bill was a true hero; a true American. Dear Alice, Joan, Bill and the whole family,
WE have so many great memories of the time we spent with all of you and what great neighbors you all were. From camping, hunting, shows and just visits. Bill sure had so many health issues and still he remained so full of sprit. Sorry we can't be there at this time but we have everyone in our prayers. Saddly,

Bill and Alice represent a generation of family I have lost touch with, but remember with true joy in my heart. As a child I would visit with Aunt Emma and Aunt Elsie, and often see Billy and Alice there. Dear Alice, my heart goes out to you in this time of loss. What a lovely large family you have for support. God bless you all. Bonnie Fitch Masserio

We will miss him. Gene enjoyed so much volunteering with him at Soldier's & Sailors, and has so many interesting stories of their working together. We extend our deepest sympathies to Alice and family.

Family and Friends of Bill,
May God comfort and support you in the time of your loss. My prayers and thoughts are with you.
“Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions. If it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.” John 14: 1 -3
I have many wonderful memories of my dear cousin Bill Schwer. As a child, he was a man's man I admired. I can still recall him hunting for small game on our farm in Kittanning. He always had time for me. He was kind and a wonderful example of Christian love and commitment. I also am grateful for his devotion to our country in military and police service.
God Bless and Keep You,
Lou Slautterback
