BUCYRUS: William A. Seits, 89, died January 31, 2011. He was born June 21, 1921 to the late John Polen and Mazie (Trautman) Seits and was a lifelong resident of Bucyrus, graduating from Bucyrus High School in 1939.

Bill was the grandson of the first Bucyrus Chief of Police, Philip Trautman. Bill was also a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bucyrus.

He married Shirley Clinger on November 30, 1950 and she preceded him in death. They had five children. Surviving are Kathy (Tom) Noblit of Mount Vernon, John Seits of Columbus, and Susan (Allen) Murphey of Cincinnati. A daughter, Patricia; and a son, William P.; preceded him in death.

Also surviving are another daughter, Barbara Loyd, of Missouri; sister, Marge Morgan; granddaughters, Emily (David) Hite and Paige Murphey; grandsons, Jake Kindred and Bryan Kindred; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Robert) Hubble; three great grandchildren; two nephews; and one niece.

Bill's wife, Ruth (Shoemaker) Seits also survives along with her family, Jeff Kemery, Layla, Shane & Addie Bowen, Steve Shoemaker, Craig Shoemaker and Sasha Shoemaker. He will be missed by his loving companion, Boo the dog.

He was preceded in death by brothers, John P. Seits, Robert Seits; and a niece.

Friends may call Saturday, February 5 from 9-11 a.m. at Wise Funeral Service. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Don Neumann officiating. The Fraternal Order of Police will hold their tribute at the conclusion of the service. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with full military rites provided by American Legion Post 181.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Crawford County Humane Society or St. Paul's Lutheran Church through the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.wisefuneral.com.

Kathy and Tom--I just learned from Grandson, David, of the passing of your father. So sorry to hear that, but I think he had a good and long life and I am sure you have plenty of memories to help you through the grief. Faith in God also helps with the healing.

My sympathy, Marjorie Hite
