SHILL, William L. "Bill" Age 77 of Lewisburg, passed away Monday December 1, 2014 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born March 21, 1937 in Dayton, son of the late Ray W. and Charlene J. (Shilt) Shill. Bill was a USMC and US Army Veteran. He retired from Dayton Gear & Tool in 1999. He was a member of Vandalia Masonic Lodge # 742 F& AM, the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton, and the Antioch Shrine. Bill was an avid bowler who once bowled a 298. He loved searching for buried treasure with his metal detector and enjoyed his time on the lake fishing. Bill was preceded in death by his brother Alvin Ray Shill. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Mary Lee Shill; 2 daughters Donna & husband Gary McIntosh, and Janna & husband Marc Petrosky; 4 grandchildren Matthew and Traci McIntosh and Brandon and Brittney Petrosky; one great-grandson Matthew McIntosh Jr.; sister-in-law Becky Shill; one niece Amy McCormick and one nephew Gary Shill. Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 3 at 12:00 noon at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home 139 S. Dixie Dr. Vandalia. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday morning from 10:00am until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Dayton or to the Alzheimer's Association in Bill's memory.
