Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 13, 2024.
William "Will" Wilson Smith, age 57, of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2024, at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee. Will was born on February 7, 1967, in Decatur, Illinois, and was known for his diverse career and stealth like wit and sense of humor.

Will was a jack of all trades, including dabbling in horticulture and owning a food truck, but his true passion was as a Lighting Designer/Audio/Video Tech for Live Shows. He traveled with production companies, sharing his adventures and famous encounters on social media. He was described as a man of hard knocks with a generous heart, always willing to share wisdom and encouragement with those around him.

In his personal life, Will was a man of many relationships. He is survived by his girlfriend, Faith Norwood, along with her children and grandchildren (TN), mother, Viola Richardson (IL), sons, Alex and Gabriel Smith (IL), sister, Shelley Welke (IL), brother, Kevin Richardson (MO), nieces, Abigail Welke (UT) and Leah Richardson (MO), nephew, Daniel Welke (WI), grandchildren, Mason, Kyndrik, Grayson, Avery and Jordan Smith all of (IL), one step brother and two step sisters, and his his beloved German Shepherd, Jager. Will was preceded in death by his father, William Smith, his grandparents, his sister Darla Smith, his son Wilson Smith, and one step-sister.

Despite not being a frequent church attendee, Will had a strong relationship with God, which he shared openly across various platforms, such as his small media company, Possum Creek, and his social media platform, Breaking Chains. His hobbies included, listening to various conservative talk radio hosts, playing the guitar, writing songs and poetry, producing videos, and sharing stories of faith, redemption, and recovery. He also enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycles, joking around, and indulging in his favorite foods like potato salad, chips and onion dip, and cottage cheese. He made many friends wherever he traveled and his last few years were happy, being loved by and loving Faith.

Per Will's wishes, there will be no memorial service. Instead, his loved ones are encouraged to hold their best memories of him close to their hearts. The Nashville Cremation Center, of Tennessee, is assisting with the arrangements.

Will's unique blend of humor, wisdom, and advice will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace, united with his son.

One of my best memories, with my brother, was getting new puppies when I was three, and he was nine. I got a girl golden and he got a boy one. <3
