William Spangenberg Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 5, 2021.

William (Bill) L. Spangenberg Sr passed away on September 19, 2021 at the age of 84 after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born June 27, 1937 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, Bill has been a long-time resident of Lower Bucks County. He was a strong patriarch of his family, a good friend to all, a man who would give his shirt for anyone. Guided by faith, Bill was a strong, proud and good man. He is loved and will be missed by many!

He was a veteran who served honorably as a United States Marine during the Korean war. His belief of giving one's self for a greater cause would serve as the foundation for all of his success in life. After his military service he was employed as a material handler for 38 years at Rohm & Haas until his retirement.

Beloved husband of Esther (Morris) of 61 years, Bill is a proud and loving father of sons Bill and Paul and daughter Renee. He has seven grandchildren, Christina, Jordan, Bill, Brandyn, Blake, Nicholas and Alyssa and two great grandchildren Evelyn and Robby. His legacy will live on through all of them. He was predeceased by father George and mother Grace.

Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Friends may also call on Thursday, October 7, from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at Christ United Methodist Church, 501 Wistar Road, Fairless Hills, where his funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.

The family has requested in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org or by mail to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8516.
