My heart sank very deeply when I researched Bill's address and saw he had passed. I am retiring for the 2nd time and wanted talk to old friends (and Bill was one from the 1960's). We became friends when he was at Duke and would visit Washington College to see a girl there. He would stay at our dorm and we would go out to college activities. When I graduated in 1963, Bill invited me on many occasions to spend the weekend at his parents home in Surf City that year and the next. He helped my wife and I, as an attorney, on several occasions with the sale of my mother in law's home and the purchase of her new one.
Whenever I visited, his Mom and Dad always treated me as if I was family.
Again, I am very sorry. Please, please pass along my message to everyone in the family. And give all my sincere condolences.

Bill was the best law partner and friend anyone could hope for. He was honest, ethical, caring and funny. At a time when women lawyers were scarce in municipal law, he was always supportive of me and helped me navigate endless client issues. He was a joy to know and I was honored to be his friend. I will miss him always.

Bill was a darling man-smart, funny and the best law partner anyone could hope for. He was always supportive, kind and inquisitive. He took me under his wing at a time women in municipal law were a rarity, and never once diminished my achievements. I will always love him and miss him terribly.

Bill was a close friend during high school. We spent endless hours playing basketball at Louie Parker´s; sitting in front of his stereo listening to Ted Heath, Maynard Ferguson and other big bands; playing in Somerville´s Marching Band, Stage Band and a small orchestra that played out using the school´s stage band charts; traveling to Birdland in NYC to hear Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Joe Williams and Maynard (we weren´t old enough to drink so we had to sit in the back of the club and drink tea and soda); and enjoying his parents´ summer home in Surf City. In 1969, he served as my Best Man at my marriage to Nancy. Unfortunately, we lost touch when we went to college and I moved to Pennsylvania. He truly was a beautiful person and I treasure our time together.
