Bill, your legacy lives on in my heart and thoughts.

And, your prescience continues to dazzle me. I remember a conversation several years before your departure from this life---during a general election cycle, in which we discussed personal preferences for the next U. S. President. You surprised me with the unhesitating reply "Donald Trump !" Understandably, then, less than 2 months after you left us, my face broke into a smile when I imagined your pleasure that this non-politician successful businessman was voted the next captain at the helm of our ship of state.

You, Dorothy, and your children are in my prayers today. Keep up the good order and discipline in our Father's house. And, if it pleases you, put in a good word for me. I miss you.

Very Respectfully,

Mac Hunt

The Lord delivered to us a righteous, honourable, and loyal servant and friend when he made Major Tisdale. Bill embodied Semper Fidelis.

Having known Bill and Dorothy for 20 years, my wife Fran and I recognize that we could not hope to have better friends and neighbours.

May the Supreme Commandant bless and keep you, Bill; there's a room for you in that big promised house. And, I'll pray for guidance to live the remainder of my life in such ways as to earn a reunion.

Dorothy, our hearts and prayers of support and understanding are with you; and we look forward to our continued relationship with you, as friends and neighbours.

With Love and Deep Respect,

C. M. Hunt, Jr., M. D.

So Sorry for your loss. I got to know William Tisdale through his role as Deputy Commandant of cadets at SUNY Maritime College while I was a cadet from 1989-1993. He was a great man and left a legacy wherever he spent time.

Deepest sympathies to the Tisdale family. So sorry to hear of the CDR's passing. To a shipmate, this man had a significant impact on our professional development at Fort Schuyler. He was a mentor and friend.

Marines don't die, they just get reassigned to guard Heaven's Gates. Semper Fidelis, sir. We have the watch.
