William Jack "Bill" Upton

LONGVIEW — Funeral services for Bill Upton, 58, of Longview, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at the chapel of Rader Funeral Home of Longview, with Dale Perkins and Dr. Gregg Zackary officiating. Burial will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 16, 2013, in Spring Hill Cemetery, Daingerfield. He passed away Thursday, October 10, 2013, in a Longview hospital. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013, at the funeral home.
Bill was born October 14, 1954, in Midland, Texas. He worked for AEP/SWEPCO for 30 years, first as an electrician and then as an instrument repairman. Bill also volunteered his time in the media department at his home church, Mobberly Baptist Church. He loved photography and electronics and was a very good teacher.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Upton; and his brother and sister, James Lee Upton and Donna Upton Linder.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Kathy Smires Upton; two sons, William Upton and his wife, Shelby and David Upton; his sister-in-law, Betty Upton; and several nieces and nephews.
