William Waugh Obituary

William Woodyard Waugh, 75, of Culpeper, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at University of Virginia Hospital. Born April 8, 1929, in Orange County, he was a son of the late Arthur C. and Louise Hossley Waugh. Mr. Waugh was a member of Thoroughfare Bible Church, Leon and was retired from Transco Gas Company, Unionville. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a stepson, Larry Wayne Knighting and a sister, Mary Lou Towsey. Surviving are his wife, Anna Marie Waugh of Culpeper; two sons, William Waugh, Jr. of Owensburg, Kentucky and Anthony Waugh of Manassas; a stepdaughter, Judy Partlow of Culpeper; a brother, Robert Waugh of Artesia, New Mexico; three sisters, Virginia Baker of Louisa, Iva Mae Coiner of Charlottesville and Phyllis Johnson of Gordonsville; five grandchildren, Sylina, Jeannie and Austin Waugh, Zachery Cullop and Dustin Tharp. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 3, at Preddy Funeral Chapel, Madison, with Pastor Perry Utz officiating. Interment will follow in Thoroughfare Bible Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Reva Fire and Rescue, 18230 Birmingham Road, Culpeper, Virginia 22701.
