William Winslow Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 11 to Dec. 13, 2020.
William "Bill" Winslow Sr. December 6, 2020 William "Bill" Winslow Sr., 77 passed away Sunday after a courageous battle against Covid-19. He was 1 of 19 children born to the late Robert and Helen (Bassett) Winslow. He was predeceased by 12 siblings and his daughter-in-law Peggy. Bill is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sarah (Kelly); daughters, Christine (Dennis) Bell, Robin and Jennifer Winslow; sons, William Jr., James and Daniel (Tiffany) Winslow; sisters, Carol (Mike) Kelly, Marilyn (John) Schlicht and Diane Charima; brothers, Ray (Dorothy) Winslow, David (Cindy) Winslow and Harold Winslow; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Bill worked for over 35 years as a tree trimmer for the City of Syracuse. One of his favorite parts of the job was picking out, cutting down, and decorating the Christmas tree in Clinton Square for the entire city to enjoy each year. He would be shown on the news every year; he was a star in our eyes. His favorite hobby was playing the lottery. He loved camping, fishing, being a boy scout leader, helping people and spending time with his family. Because of the restrictions due to Covid-19, we invite family and friends who wish to send condolences, share stories, or send photos to do so by sending to P.O. Box 6933, Syracuse, N.Y. 13217. Family would love to include them in a Celebration of Life memorial service planned for a more appropriate time in the future (to be announced) so we may fully honor his memory. I didn't know Uncle Billy well in the past few years, but I remember at family gatherings and how he was always smiling! I know he loved his family, and spending time at my parent's lake house fishing. He was loved and will be missed by many. Love and condolences to all the family ❤
