Dear Pat and Family: I was so sorry to hear of Bill's sudden death. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this difficult time. Bill was a joy and a "keeper" as you well know, Pat. And you will keep him in your hearts forever. I am so glad to have known him.

To the Yates Family,
My sincere sympathy to you at this time. I will always remember the wonderful person that Dr. Yates was. We would have many laughs together when I would be in the Occupational Health department. He always had time to talk and crack a joke.
I also got to know Cindy and Bobby while working at the hospital as the messenger.....my deepest sympathy to all of your family. God Bless.

Dear Yates Family:
I was a young, 22 year old, City of Johnstown Police Officer on September 8, 1969 when I was badly wounded by a gunman. I thank God every day that Dr. Bill Yates was there at the Lee Hospital to preform emergency surgery and save my life. He had treated me on several other occasions and treated my wife, Francine as well. He was a "gifted" surgeon and I/we considered him a friend. I am now 60 years old and I consider every day since September 8, 1969 as a gift from GOD sent through his servant, William Yates. I am greatly saddened by his passing but happy knowing he is with the Father. God Bless all of you.

You do not know me, but Dr. Yates was instrumental in saving my mother's life when she had to have emergency aneurism surgery. This was in 1981. How grateful we were.

To the Yates Family,

While I fell out of touch with my "second" family these last several years, I will always look back at that period of my life with such fond memories of Doc & Pat welcoming me into their home like a fourth son. Doc always had the time to teach me something, share a story, or provide great advice, at an age where mentoring and the wisdom of the years was so important. I cannot express how sad I was to hear of Doc's passing. I will be thinking of all of you: Pat, Cindy, Donny, Jeff, Scott, and family, during this very emotional time. I only wish I could get home to pay my respects. Doc was one of the kindest people I have known, and I will truly miss him. Resty Court will never be the same. God bless you all.

To the Yates family,
In the summer of 1960 I was 9 years old and was admitted to Lee Hospital for 2 weeks because I had cut the tendons in my foot. I was very shy and afraid, but looked forward seeing Dr Yates while he was completing his rounds, as he cheered me up. I have recently and often wondered what happened to him and Dr Cory. Dr Yates took such good care of me. I will always remember how handsome he was and his kind manner and he always had a smile for me. He is forever in my memory and my thoughts and prayers are with your family . I now live in California, otherwise I would attend the service . Kim Higgins

Dear Pat, Jeff,Cindy, Don and Scott and families,

Please accept our sincerest sympathy at this sad time.I know that a close family such as yours will have many memories to sustain you and many friends to comfort you but still the loss is real. We feel so far away and a hug would feel so great right now.
I know you will be hugging one another and that is a comfort to us.

I am so glad we visited in April and had that special time to catch up with you and Bill and meet again, Scott and Derek and Cindy.

Bill will never know the comfort and strength he gave me 25 years ago when my Dad was dying and I called him for his opinion and more recently during Ruth's illness when it was so wonderful to hear his voice every couple of weeks when he would call to check on Mom and Ruth but also on how I was managing. I will remember that forever.

Our love to you, Pat and we will keep in touch . Thanks so much for calling, Scott.

Most sincerely,
Eleanor and Harry,
Greg and Amanda,
