YORK, ELEANOR W. In Old Saybrook December 6, 2014 Eleanor W. York 93, of Old Saybrook, formerly of Clinton. Wife of the late Robert C. York, Sr. Loving mother of Pege Witham (Harry) of East Lyme, Diane Venuti of Micco, FL., Dennis York (Bunny) of The Villages, FL., and Bruce Wagner (Karole) of Westbrook. Also survived by her 17 cherished grandchildren, several great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. She was predeceased by a brother Robert Smith, a step son Robert C. York, Jr. and a step daughter Jane York Bell. Mrs. York was born in Middletown on March 10, 1921, daughter of the late D. Howard and Ellen Peterson Smith. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Cypress Cemetery, Westbrook. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. in Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Rd. Old Saybrook. Denny and Peg very sorry to her about your mom.Sitting here thinking about all the stuff we did together growing up with your and my parents just seems like yesterday.Not many old timers left around as we know them, Dean last week and your mom this week.
We are now the new old timers and trying to accomplish as much as they did. The balls in our court.
