Willie James Tolon Sr. of Rockford departed this earthly life January 7, 2020. He was born June 1, 1953 in Crawford, MS the son of Jasper and Mollie Tolon. Willie lived in Rockford 50 years coming Crawford. He married the former Julia Robinson July 7, 1978 in Crawford. Willie was employed as a custodian by many local Nursing Homes for over 10 years. He attended schools in Mississippi.
Willie leaves to cherish many loving memories his wife, Julia; five, daughters, Jackie (David) Shabazz, Steffanie (Corey) Jefferson, Zakia Tolon, Dorothy House and Regina Ganaway; three sons, Anthony (Jamie) Ganaway, Kywan (Jethny) Edmonson, and Willie Tolon Jr.; 24 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; sisters, Lucille (Henry) Mosley and Doris Buchanan; three brothers, Jasper (Bobbie), John (Myra), and Fred (Jenette) Tolon a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and one sister.
Services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Faith Walker Assembly 410 8th Street. Burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens
. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Arrangements completed by Carl e. Ponds Funeral Home 200 N. Johnston Ave.
