We will always remember her by her welcoming smile and her sweet presence. She was always so easy to talk to and enjoyed sharing a few laughs.

Ms. Hill was the lady that wouldn´t eat my food, if I had a cat. Luckily, I didn´t have a cat and she liked my food.
Ms. Hill was my Eligibility Supervisor, when I started at the DPSS. She never turned me away when I needed to talk and we had many talks and laughs. We shared stories about our kids and any other things we could think to talk about. She was the very first supervisor I had, in my 20 something years in the workforce, to give me recognition. I told her that I never received it and she actually listened and one day during a meeting, gave us rewards for our work and I finally got the recognition that I deserved.
She spoke to me about me wanting to advance in my career, gave me tips and advice, and she ended up more excited, than I was, when I was waiting to hear back about an interview. She listened out for the phone call to come through for my reference and was so happy when she was finally able to. She told me that she was giving a really good reference then someone had to walk up to her cubicle. HA! HA! Ms. Hill would always have me laughing. I lost contact when I left DPSS and she retired. I always thought of Ms. Hill, especially when I was driving through Gardena. I wish I could have shared my achievements and heard about the things she was doing during her retirement. She was a true sweetheart and I will miss her dearly.

Ms. Hill was my back up Supervisor when I started teleworking. A few times I called to close to 5pm aka closing time. " Ms. Monica why do you call at the end of day" bye call me in the morning. Great team worker, knowledgeable about all things DPSS and life in general. Smart, dedicated, caring and steadfast. Ms. Hill was one of a kind. You are missed.
Respectfully,
Monica Rae Williams CSC 2

I've known Wilma my entire life and will miss her deeply. My love for peanuts and sunflower seeds come from her. I'll never forget her calling me on my birthday singing. She always made me feel special! I'll miss hearing her laugh the most!

Ms. Hill was my ES at CSC II for a little over 2 years. She would always call me by my last name Cutley, so I knew I wasn´t in trouble
Ms. Hill and I would talk a lot about our families, shopping, me navigating life as a single mom then. Thanks to her and my dad I was approved for my first apartment back in 2018! She knew how bad I wanted to provide a beautiful life for my son. She gave me a lot of advice and encouragement.
When we had gatherings for unit 8, she always wanted to get a roasted chicken, potato salad and cookies from Costco. I would joke that like my father she always wanted a chicken from Costco lol... she would laugh and say that it´s easy to grab and will feed everyone. That´s who Ms. Hill was... a strong woman who took care of others. I respected her for not allowing me to feel sorry for myself no matter what hell I was going through. She will always be remembered, cherished and loved. Thank you Ms. Hill for all that you´ve done for me. You made good of your time here on earth. God bless and strengthen your family and friends
Miss you,
Taneshia Cutley-Birks

I have a lot of special moments. Every time we talk on the telephone, we never hang up the telephone without telling each other I love you! It didn't matter if we were on the phone three minutes nor three hours. I am missing not talking to my friend.
