Wilson Davis Obituary
1910 - 2008Wilson Davis, 97, of Pensacola passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Speciality Center Nursing Facility surrounded by his sons after a short illness.
Wilson was born in Bainbridge, GA, on November 22, 1910. Wilson was a resident of Pensacola since 1932. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. Wilson retired as a taxi driver after 35 years. He was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a very devoted companion, Marie McCrackin; three sons, Ralph (Annie), James (Cathy) of Pensacola, and Oscar of New Jersey; one step-son, Dan Washington (Shelly); 10 grandchildren, Wallace Wilson, John Davis, Arlivia Carter, Charles Wilson, Lynn Wiley, Conchita Davis, Charles Wilson, Mischa Davis, Charles Wiley, Teresa Wilson; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren.
Wilson also had one deceased son, Wilson Davis Jr.; and one deceased daughter, Lillian Marie Davis-Wilson.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, February 29, 2008 at Springhill Baptist Church, 1200 W Jackson St, Pensacola with Eugene Smith officiating.
Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. A repast will follow the burial at the church.
Friends may call from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Joe Morris & Son Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Davis II, John Davis, Charles Wiley, Wallace Wilson, James Jones and Charles Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Springhill Baptist Church.
