Winburn Craft Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 17, 2025.
Winburn Fletcher "Win" Craft Jr., 82, passed away on January 19, 2025, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

Born on January 9, 1943, in Winston-Salem, Win was the son of Winburn Fletcher Craft Sr. and Anita Long Craft. He grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Northwest Senior High School. Throughout his life, he was dedicated to hard work and service to his community.

Win served in the North Carolina National Guard and later became a valued member of the Winston-Salem Fire Department, where he served for 15 years. His career also included farming-raising Black Angus cattle and growing tobacco-and he eventually retired from Sunoco Packaging and Display.

Beyond his professional life, Win found joy in spending time with family and friends. He had a deep love for sports, particularly football and baseball, and was especially fond of John Deere tractors. His faith was an important part of his life; raised in the Methodist Church, he later found great fulfillment in attending Bible study.

Win is survived by his sisters June, Marjorie, Pat, and Fay; his stepchildren Marla and Chad (wife Debbie); grandsons Cory (wife Brittany), Tyler (wife Rachel), and Caleb (wife Kayla); and great-grandchildren Brayden, Oakley, Leo, Lawson, and Hazel. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Winburn Fletcher Craft III; the mother of his children, Alyce Craver Craft; and his great-grandson Stetson Colt Edwards.

A memorial service will be held on February 23, 2025, at Pleasant Hill Church, located at 4691 Vienna-Dozier Rd., Pfafftown, North Carolina, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. There will be gathering in the fellowship hall after the service for lunch and socializing.

Win will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, father, grandfather, and friend who cherished time spent with loved ones. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
