Donna Jean Hall Stone

Donna Hall Stone, age 80, of Millcreek, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014, surrounded by her family, following a brief illness.

She was born February 14, 1934 in Coudersport, Pa., a daughter of the late Leo L. and Hannah Woodcock Hall.

She graduated from Millcreek High School, Class of 1952, Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing, Class of 1955, and Villa Maria College, Class of 1976. She retired from Beverly Healthcare after 30 years of service as a nurse and nursing home administrator.

Donna enjoyed quilting, sewing for various charities, time working in her yard and flower beds, traveling by cruising to many ports throughout the world, and boating on Lake Erie. She was a member and Deacon at Wayside Church, a member of the Rotary Club of Erie and a member of Hands All Around Erie Quilt Guild.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Donald Hall and her sister, Margaret Hall.

The family would like to thank Donna's caregivers Karen, from Griswold Home Health, and Janet, from Great Lakes Hospice, for their loving care and concern.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years Leslie Stone; her children, Paul Stone and wife Cynthia of Erie and Jane Cimbalnik and husband Timothy of Brookfield, Wis.; and her grandchildren, Daniel Stone of Erie; Andrew and David Cimbalnik of Brookfield, Wis. She is further survived by sisters Virginia Howland Church, of Erie; Grace Caldwell Minteer and husband Wayne of Coudersport, Pa.; Patricia Damewood of Poplar Bluff, Mich.; a brother, James L. Hall and wife Marilyn of Erie; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street (at Powell Ave.), on Saturday, March 1, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m., until the time of the Memorial Service at 3 p.m., with Rev. James Haas officiating.

Private interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, at the convenience of the family.
