Wolfgang Bildstein Obituary
Wolfgang's thirst for scientific knowledge was matched by his passion for the arts. He experimented with superconductivity and cryogenics, as well as making a great many photographs, paintings, and taking part in the German Theatre of Montreal as an actor. A man of culture, he enjoyed opera music, jazz, litterature and travel. His brilliant mind was destroyed by Alzheimer's disease in the last years of his life. His 'joie de vivre' will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Heartfelt thanks to the doctor and nurse of geriatrics at the Montreal Jewish General Hospital, and the staff at the CLSC for all their kindness and caring.
Memorial to be celebrated on July 20th @ 12h00 at the Centre funéraire Côte-des-Neiges, 4525 Chemin de la Côte-des-Neiges.
Donations to the Jewish General Foundation Geriatrics - Alzheimer's Disease Research, or to the Quebec Federation of Alzheimer Societies for research are encouraged.

My deepest sympathies, Marianne. I remember Wolfgang so very fondly; he was the one who introduced me to opera and so enriched my life. I will never forget him. He was a very good man who will be remembered by many.

I woke up today thinking of Wolfgang and Marianne. I have not seen them since perhaps 1994 but have thought of them fondly on occasion over the years, having spent lots of time at their home many years ago when I was a friend of Oliver. They were such wonderful hosts and kind and fascinating people. It was always an education in culture. How sad I was to see that he passed when I googled today and what a strange coincidence to think of them just now. My very sincerest condolences to you Marianne and all the family.

My sweet Onkel Wolfgang - I shall never forget all the precious moments we spent together. Ever. Swimming in all of your pools, playing backgammon, talking about philosophy, history, art, taking photos, eating good food, listening to music... And laughing and enjoying life!! You truly made the world a brighter place for me, and opened my eyes to all sorts of different ideas and things. A true Thinker, that's you, and always with humour & insight. It is sad that Alzheimers took away the man that I once knew, but I will always love and cherish you, and all the joy, knowledge, and laughter you brought into my life. And I thank you for sharing that with me, from the bottom of my heart... May you rest in peace. Your memory will always be with me. I love and miss you very much, Daniela
