WOOSTER "BUBBA" JACOBS

Wooster "Bubba" Jacobs FLORENCE - Funeral services for Mr. Wooster "Bubba" Jacobs, age 94 will be conducted 12:00 noon Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Mt. Sinai Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the Florence National Cemetery. He died on Thursday, February 9, 2012 in a local nursing care facility after an illness. "Bubba", as he was lovingly called, was born February 11, 1917 in Lee County to Mack and Augusta Davis Jacobs. He attended the public schools of Florence County. His employment was with Seaboard Coastline Railroad, Thurston Trucking Company, Quality Inn and Backus Funeral Home. He was a member of Mount Sinai Holiness Church where he served on the Trustee and Deacon Board. He was also a member of Mt. Pisgah Lodge #437. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Marie Jacobs; and two siblings, Ethel J. Peanort and Hosea Jacobs. Survivors are: a daughter, Donna Lee Stubbs; son, Larry L. Jacobs; grand-daughters, Shaaron D. Stubbs and Tarra Stubbs; great grandchildren, Henry Wooster Stubbs III, Hebe M. Stubbs, Shaniqua L. Stubbs, Krystal R. Jackson, Chyane M. Hickson and Trezahn Stubbs; great great grandchild, Kahlil Stubbs; devoted sister, Williemae J. Sanders; special niece, Gloria S. McCants; special friend, Janie Deas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Masonic rites will be 7:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. The casket will be placed in the church one hour prior to service. Family is receiving friends at the home of his sister, Mrs. Williemae Sanders, 309 W. Liberty Street, Florence.
