Wyatt Duckworth Obituary

With great sadness, we announce that Wyatt Sidney Duckworth passed away on October 17, 2024. Wyatt was born on February 18, 2008 to Joe and Nikki Duckworth. He was 16 years old and wildly loved.

Wyatt lived boldly and independently, with an admirable determination to do things his own way. Wyatt had a great love of sports that began at an early age as he fell in love with the game of baseball, and this love continued for the duration of his life as he showed talent and passion for a variety of sports. Wyatt took any opportunity he could to step out onto a field, court, or course to play a game he loved.

Wyatt will be remembered by his family and friends as an intelligent young man with a pure soul and infectious laugh. His sense of humor will be remembered fondly with laughs that will be shared with him in spirit. Wyatt lived his life loudly, leaving echoes that will be held close to the hearts of those of who were blessed enough to know and to love him.

In addition to his parents, Wyatt is survived by his siblings, Eli and Callie Duckworth; grandparents Steve and Kathy Duckworth, and Ron (Donna Russell) Betz; great-grandmother Jackie Young; uncles Aaron (Stacey) Duckworth, and Richard Betz; cousin Perrie Grace Duckworth; and other aunt and uncles who will cherish his memory. Wyatt leaves behind a beloved girlfriend, and countless friends that he shared his life with. He is preceded in death by his grandmother Debbie Betz, and great-grandfather Bud Young.

A celebration of life will be held in the coming days with date, location, and time to be announced soon.

"Sit with my mother and the dearly departed

Send a prayer down to the broken-hearted

Let 'em know it all turns out just fine"

Although we are strangers, I also lost my son in a car wreck so as much as anyone can understand someone else's pain, I come close. I am so saddened, cannot imagine what you are going through with your daughter injured...please know that you are not alone in your grief....so many people...total strangers....helped us.....whether in notes or support group. We all have to find our own way but it is good to have places to go or people with whom to share who can understsand without questions. I loved reading about Wyatt...kind of how I would describe my son. His light will surely continue to shine! Take care! Karen Pinsky

Me and Wyatt were in english class with Mrs.booth . He was my very first friend made at ctc. We would always laugh in class. Me and Wyatt would make jokes constantly. He was the only reason why I really enjoyed english. If it wasn't for him I wouldn't have been confident to make more friend here at ctc.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Wyatt was a great friend to all his teammates throughout his years of playing ball, these boys were more than teammates, they were a family.

My family wants you to know just how much we enjoyed watching Wyatt play sports. Our son always loved Wyatt (especially catching for Wyatt), and we will sure miss him on the courts and ball diamond! He was so vibrant, and your words to describe him could not be more accurate. Praying for you all and I know that Wyatt is watching Callie now, waiting for her to rise and play. . If you need anything, we're here for you, just down the road. The Sargent-Wood family.

Callie is my best friend I remember she ran up to Wyatt at school and he picked her up, and I remember how much he loved her and cared for her.
