Yvonne Latimer Obituary
Chesapeake - Yvonne K. "Hattie" Latimer, 69, joined a higher calling on Dec. 20, 2013. She was born March 9, 1944 to the late Eunice and Marion Winstead. She was also predeceased by her husband, Franklin D. R. Latimer; 2 sisters, Eunice Winstead and Mary L. Hargrove; 2 brothers, Eugene T. Ellison and Darnell Winstead; 2 step-sisters, and 4 step-brothers.
She was a 1962 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and was currently employed as a Mary Kay representative with over 30 years of service. She was a proud member of Shiloh Baptist Church and served on the Hospitality Ministry for many years.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Deneen Ford; 1 son, Jerome Latimer; 6 sisters, Fannie Etheridge (Elijah), Sarah Hargraves (John), Nanette Elliott (Robert), Beverly Winstead, LaBarbara Sheed and Vanessa Winstead; one brother, Miles Winstead; 2 step-sisters, Ollie Mae Pope and Marion Byrum both of Wilson, N.C.; 1 very special son-in-law, Wendell (Bosco) Ford; one aunt of Lois, S.C.; 2 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Yvonne's life will be celebrated at 11am, Sat., Dec. 28, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 745 Park Ave., Norfolk, with Pastor Keith I. Jones officiating. The family will receive guests at Metropolitan Funeral Service, 7246 Granby Street from 6-8p.m. Friday. Her final resting place will be at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake. I really miss my mother but I will always remember that the work she have done will speak for me. I know she is in a better place no more pain and no more warries . I will join her and my father one day love y'all both !

My sister in faith my friend to the end, you will truly be miss. God bless me when he put you in my life because you never let me down and you were always lifting me up with prayer. You will always be in my heart, remembering that hearty laughter and good times you brought in my life. God has come to take his beautiful angel home with no more suffering. There are no words to express the lost of a friend but I know that she is in a much better place with no more pains or worries. Deen and Jerome know that your mother loved you and always wanted the best for you. Also, know that God will see you through for He has said He will not leave you or forsake you. I would like to send my condolences out to my sister in law Deneen and her brother Jerome. Deneen and Jerome your mother is in a better place now with no worries, no pain, and definitely no confusion. It will be hard at first to get up in the morning not able to just to say "Hello, Mommy! How are you today. GOD understands your pain but GOD's plan out weight our feeling. We have two reasons to be on Earth that is to Live in GOD's way and be prosper. Secondly, is to join our father by leaving the temple in which was giving to us at birth to become a spirit that will always be with you. Just know that Mrs. Yvonne is gone for now but will always be in our hearts. Love
